Have you been asked to train or are you are trainer? Here is an acronym to help remember some principles of adult learning: &lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;LEARN&lt;/span&gt; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;-&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;L&lt;/span&gt;earner driven: If learners understand the “why” they’ll feel more motivated.&lt;br /&gt;-&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;E&lt;/span&gt;xperiential:Adults who learn by doing gain more compared to a lecture class. Relevance also motivates adults to learn/do.&lt;br /&gt;-&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;A&lt;/span&gt;bility to measure: Define concepts and tell learners as plainly as possible what will be evaluated.&lt;br /&gt;-&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;R&lt;/span&gt;esidual: Adult learning will be more effective if new knowledge can be related to existing knowledge of facts, experience or information. Help learners by elaborating or restating on what participants mention during a discussion. This encourages learns to participate as it lowers risks of participating.&lt;br /&gt;-&lt;span style="font-size:180%;"&gt;N&lt;/span&gt;umerous Learning styles: Learns usually exhibit a variety of learning styles such as visual, auditory, learning by trial and error, tactical.
